Dr. Swarup has been our pediatrician since we moved to the area 11 years ago. Her knowledge and bedside manner is top-notch and our kids are very comfortable with her every time we visit. She has an excellent ability to "codeswitch" to the Parent, Staff, or Kids as needed. Nothing but positive interactions for the last 11 years. As part of the CHoP Care Network, the local facility is well designed, clean, and incredibly modern. Attached to an Urgent Care Facility, it is comforting to know that almost ANY medical equipment or procedure can be done on-site. If/when (MRI, XRay) more complex services are needed, CHoP hospitals are easily engaged and orders, prescriptions, and records are seamlessly transferred back and forth. One special thing to note is that as our children have aged 11 years she has changed how Dr. Swarup interacts with them in a very positive and refreshing manner. Obviously, at a young age, she would direct questions about care to us, the parents. At the age of 9-10, she would ask the kids directly and look to us for verification/validation. Now, 12 and 16, Dr. Swarup directs all questions to the children directly. Not only does this demonstrate to the kids that they are in control of their medical care, but also that they need to advocate for themselves, be aware of their allergies, and let them direct their own care. I think this is a fantastic style and it only empowers the kids to be the ones directing their care. Note: We have met with other Drs on staff here, and all are equally as qualified, but we like Dr. Swarup the best.
