I went to see Dr. Yi-Chun Chen as a referral from my family practitioner from the Swedish Medical Group.  After waiting for an appointment with her for 2 months,  within 2 min. of my visit and explaining my problem, she mentioned that she only have 30 minutes for this scheduled appointment, and according to my explanation, I would need to schedule another appointment.

She also did not engage in looking at my skin problem close enough, nor was she interested in giving me a professional opinion. Overall she lacked empathy for a patient, nor did she understand how to communicate to a patient in a way that a patient felt understood with their options.   I felt frustrated and annoyed for waiting for so long to receive this kind of care.  
To end this, she billed $325.00 for 30 min. appointment, for which I am responsible for $250.00.

It was difficult to get an appt as Dr's schedule is so busy. I have a very busy & hectic schedule, as well. By the time I was able to see the Dr., I had various Issues, so I felt very rushed & was only able to quickly address two issues. I felt disappointed upon leaving, rather like an assembly line--just push It through & get It done... Not like a human being that mattered.However, I emailed the Dr on MyChart & got a timely response with answers to my questions & a prescription I need. I felt much better after that. I don't blame the Dr, but do blame the system they must use, which Is rushed, Impersonal, and like an assembly line.Staff was personable & helpful.

On the follow up call with biopsy results, when I was given the diagnosis of a basal cell carcinoma, the provider was short and seemed rushed. Not unknind, not rude. Just quick. I know BCC may be nothing for someone else, but it is a lot to me. Otherwise, I just didn't think that I would want to see this particular derm bi-annually. I want to find someone with whom I can connect. She appeared to be a well prepared physician. No concerns about the care, just poor message delivery. Follow-up via my chart has been prompt and helpful.

This visit was for a full body dermatological scan; something necessary but not an urgent situation since I had no skin cancer scare but also had an eczema issue, also not urgent, so, it was something important to stay on top of and had been scheduled for awhile. The appointment was moved several times but each time I was contacted in a timely manner and informed of the reasons for the rescheduled and my time and schedule was respected. When I was ultimately able to see this provider, she was attentive, informative and engaged.

I felt like the doctor was really rushed. I had a question about removing age spots, and she said it was "cosmetic" and we could discuss on my follow-up appointment. I was disappointed that she couldn't just answer my question while I was there. I'm 61 years old and have never had a doctor not answer a question and in such a rush to get out of there. She won't be answering my question, because I'm going to request a different dermatologist for my follow-up. On the other hand, the receptionist was absolutely lovely.

Dr. Chen was efficient and thorough. She was friendly and made sure I had access to all the information I needed. My appointment went quickly, but my concerns were adequately addressed. The staff at the desk were also very friendly. My only complaint would be that I was originally told no appointments were available until October; however, due the to urgency of my concern and other circumstances, I did manage to get seen sooner. I do not fault Dr. Chen for the scheduling, though.

With all due respect to our medical professionals, I was not happy how my mole removal visit went. I felt the treatment beyond casual encounter. The dermatologist was very indifferent, procedure was not explained thoroughly. After the mole removal doctor never saw me to explain what to be done after. Her assistant seemed more compassionate. My first visit and last visit to this facility, nevertheless my sincere respect to all Doctors and their assistant's

I feel like the provider listen to my questions and concerns. Was willing to hear me out about my condition. Did not get arrogance that I have experienced in the past with other doctors. My time with the doctor was very pleasant and informative. Lastly, I made a suggestion and the doctor was willing to try what I suggested. I really do like that. I feel like I was not inferior but a patient that had questions and concerns about their care.

This was an appointment to establish care with this Dr. I have a history of skin cancer and need to be checked on a regular bases. As I have indicated in the survey the Dr. And staff were all very responsive and great. My only concern was that it took me three months to get in for this appointment. That was a long time to wait to get into see a great doctor. That said I am happy to say that I am committed, she is now my dermatologist.

I like the doctor. I do not think that she understood some of my skin complaints and thought it was nothing to worry about. Fortunately she took a biopsy of one of the sores as I had hoped for, for which I had a complaint which I am thankful for. The results came back from the lab as POSITIVE for being a pre-cancerous sore as had been my concern and she contacted me when the results came back about doing cryotherapy to treat It.
