Dr. Tyrus Gerard Montgomery, DMD

My family has gone to Dr. Tyrus for three years. I really liked the "mom and pop" feel of his office and he is a very nice man. Unfortunately, the biggest concern I had was with his front office staff. In the three years, I went to this practice, almost every scheduled cleaning was canceled the day before and rescheduled. After the sixth time, I decided that I needed to find a new practice. To my surprise when I had my first appointment at my new dentist, I had several cavities and I needed a root canal. My new dentist asked me when was the last time I'd seen a dentist, when I told her six months prior, she didn't believe me. She then began to ask me whether my previous dentist did X-rays, etc. When I think back to it, Dr. Tyrus had different dental assistants with varying levels of experience and my cleaning was super fast. In the three years I was there I had only had one filling which is the same tooth that I needed to get a root canal. Again Dr. Tyrus is a nice guy, and very personable, but at the end of the day, you go to a dentist to support the upkeep of your teeth. I fear that if my family had continued at this dentist there would have been even worse outcomes.
