In reference to the question about receiving a response after a blood test or X-Ray, their response has always been sent to My Chart which is easier for me to access and understand, owing to my use of hearing aids. The question about waiting room time is not important to me inasmuch as I like to relax there to slow down my breathing and my heart after the hectic drive through West Linn. The doctor I had several years ago was very considerate and even though he may have been a bit behind schedule when he saw me, he always accorded me the time he felt was needed to deal with my needs. Sometimes, the phone in the exam room would ring and he would answer it, "Yes, Thank you." And then say, "I sometimes feel like saying, 'Yes, mother.'" And we would laugh. Though Dr. Raines-Morris is also very considereate, we have an understanding, I come to my appointments with a list and we discuss as many as we need to and then it's time to go. I understand. He is a very competant physician. We have to share.

Dr. Raines-Morris was a new provider for me as my regular provider had departed the practice for another state. The visit was an interview, wellness check, and consultation to see if we could form a new relationship. The visit began with questions from a 3rd year med student who was rotating thought the office. Dr. Raines-Morris came in and the student related when she had learned about me. Dr. Raines-Morris asked good questions and offered some opinions about some of my problems. He ordered a blood test and prescribed medication for a condition. He also suggested we start treating me hip pain with rehab which could be done in the same office. I scheduled a follow-up visit for 90 days and I should know more by then if I would like Dr. Raines-Morris to be my regular provider. I hope this explanation clarifies my responses to some of the survey questions.

During my last visit with Dr Thomas I asked him about dealing with people who have dementia. I have become concerned because my older brother has begun telling me things that couldn't have happened to him and his wife. I asked if it was possible to convince a person with dementia that what they are describing didn't really happen. He said, "Usually not." He gave me good advice about dealing with these situations and encouraged me, as a sometimes caregiver, to consider joining a caregiver's therapy group. I had initially been hesitant about discussing this with him since it was about my brother but he said, "When something like this affects the health of a close relative it affects your health too. You have to be aware of that and be prepared for how whatever transpires will affect you." I really appreciate his concern.

It was necessary for me to change primary care physicians within the Providence healthcare system. It took me over five months to identify a medical doctor within driving distance who is excepting new patients. I am 78 years old. This was only unacceptable but put me at great risk healthwise. Dr. Thomas Raines - Morris seems to be a highly qualified and capable MD. I am happy to have found him and I've had my first appointment with him. He was caring, compassionate, and very professional. He is a credit to the Providence healthcare system. I look forward to working with him in the future.

Very busy the day of my appointment. When I arrived on time for my appointment the receptionist informed me Dr. Raines-Morris was running 30 minutes late (it was more like 40 minutes late). When the doctor came in to the exam room he explained in more detail why he was running late (e.g. Patients ahead of me were arriving late due to traffic delays/construction). His comment to me "to be nice to his staff" due to the lateness issue was unnecessary as I am always pleasant to the staff. Overall felt the appointment was rushed, however, all my questions/concerns were addressed.

My appointment was a video one to meet Dr. Raines-Morris For the first time. I was so surprised and grateful for how prepared he was in knowing my past health record. He was very good at listening to my needs and answering my questions. He spent over 45 minutes with me and the within the allotted time he familiarlized himself with me, my needs and honed in on four things he wants to work on in my next appointment three months from now. It was the best first appointment I've ever had with a doctor!

Dr. Raines-Morris is very thorough. He knows me well, and uses his insights to challenge my reluctance to change my healthcare regime. Specifically, Raines-Morris urged me to stop taking medications and supplements that no longer have evidenced based benefits for me. As a consequence, I feel like I am near the peak of health at an age where most of my contemporaries complain about how dogged they are by failing health. Raines-Morris helped ease me off insulin, which is a huge win for me.

Dr. Raines-Morris is something of a scholar using his time off work to read journals, listen to medical podcasts, and further educate himself for the benefit of his patients. He pursues this knowledge with enthusiasm which bleeds into the dialogue with patients. It's more than reassuring when Dr. Raines-Morris can bring into a conversation the most recent insights, treatment modalities, or drug therapies worth considering. I thoroughly enjoy working with a professional his caliber.

This care provider was a one-time, stand-in doctor. There was no reason for him to know all of my history, and I am fully satisfied with his care on this one virtual visit. My complaint about the practice is that I always seem to be contacted by different people, and I am not confident that any single person is really looking after my health. I will be meeting with a new doctor Monday. Perhaps things will change.

I was In A LOT of pain due to a back injury. It was luck that I was able to see Dr Raines-Morris due to a patient cancellation as the receptionist wasn't willing to try to fit me in otherwise. So that was a bit of a negative. Dr Raines-Morris and his student spent quite a bit of time reviewing my symptoms and my medical history. I never feel rushed or "unheard". Dr R-M is diligent and asks insightful questions.
