When Tatev began working with my child, my child spoke only 15 words. In just 5 months, we witnessed remarkable progress. Now, my child communicates in beautifully simple sentences. Tatev is incredibly knowledgeable and educated. I feel immensely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such a wonderful person like Tatev.
Tatev Tiffany Darbinian is the worst speech therapist in Glendale or Burbank, California. She will recommend twice a week speech therapy to fatten her pockets. She demands payments in cash and typically before the session starts. She will pump you up with positive reinforcement (Basically lies) so you continue to pay her weekly thinking everything is going great and then play dumb during the final assessment and blind-side you with a report that contradicts everything she has been saying for months. And the best part, she will quit right after the report so you don't have to fire her for being a big fat liar. I guess it's easier to quite then to get fired right, Tatev?. First, she only accepts cash and quotes different fees to different people. Don't even bother paying her by check to her company "Loriani Therapies" because the company only exists in her head (names after her two daugthers) when I hired her. Back then she has no business permit, has not registered her company with the Los Angeles County nor the city of Burbank/Glendale. Basically, she is a sole proprietor working remotely and most likely over zoom. Here's my story and I'll keep it brief... I hired Tatev around March 2019 to provide weekly speech therapy for my daughter. Knowing that my ex and I don't communicate very well, she being a licensed therapist recommended twice a week therapy. I played along like anybody else would. Trusting her advise, we continued twice a week speech therapy for several months. She always commented on how well my daughter was progressing and how weekly speech therapy wasn't going to be needed in a few months. As soon as my daughter enrolled in pre-school, she made huge improvements. What helped my daughter was not Tatev's approach but her being around other kids her age at a day care I gave positive reviews on. All Tatev did half the time was stick a computer tablet in front of my daughter and held it with both hands scared it may fall and break. Stingy if you ask me. Get a tablet protector so the kids can actually hold it. Note: Parents, if you believe your child has speech delays, make sure to enroll him/her in pre-school and see how well they do after six to nine months. Speech therapists will never recommend this because they don't want to kill their business. Well, after hearing how well my daughter was doing, I paid Tatev to visit her school and to provide a final assessment. Thinking this entire time my daughter really doesn't need weekly speech therapy anymore because of what she said, Tatev blindsides me with a report stating she needs more speech therapy and to be assessed a year later. Later when the school district assessed her, she was found to NOT NEED speech therapy. What??? So she basically BS's me for months to take my money, then sticks me with a final assessment bill. Smart move for her pocket book but bad move because I wrote this online review. There are way better Speech Therapists than Tatev Tiffany Darbinian.
Tiffany Darbinian is so unorganized and RUDE! I was just notified that my daughters speech is canceled until further notice because, quote, "the therapist has not turned in reports for authorization". My daughter has been coming here a year now, and abruptly gets cut off from her routine therapy because of their negligence. And with no apologies! Why should my daughter suffer the consequences of your staffs incompetence??? This place is the worst.
If you could avoid this place please do. Tatev Darbinian has a serious attitude problem at first she's nice but when interacting and you need to find resolutions she is not the one to go to. The main issue here is their very unorganized, not communicative or accommodating they have hardly any availability. Their is no chain of command so if Tatev decides no services you will not receive no services. Every time you call she doesn't answer and takes days to respond. I would avoid this place.
TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!! I called to make an appointment for my grandson, someone who answered the phone told me she will give the message to the therapist and they will contact me, it has been over 3 months and I am still waiting. Also I emailed them to the email they have in their website for the therapist to contact me, once again I still waiting. I don't know how busy they are because is nobody in that office except for the receptionist but I think is very unprofessional that nobody cares to at least call a potential patient. No wonder why that office is always empty, must well closed down. PS. I put 1 start cause it doesn't allow me posting without marking none.
The reason why I'm reviewing low is because of the covid protocols that Tatevik Tiffany Darbinian didn't implement on the day we went. She wasn't even wearing a mask and called Covid a government fraud. We went on one of the free try it out days, we got there in the morning before any families had arrived. As more families arrived I noticed that no other kids were mandated to wear masks, and all the kids were over 2 y/o. This could be because they had a prior arrangement but nonetheless they should announce it maybe to other parents so that it's not worrisome. If I knew other kids wouldn't be wearing masks (my kid out of five kids was the only one wearing a mask) I wouldn't take my daughter. One of the other kids had a VERY runny nose and dribbling on the play mat and putting toys in their mouth, their mom was not in close proximity to catch that as she was chatting with other parents. This mom knew he has a runny nose because ever so often she would go to her kid and wipe his nose, didn't wipe his hands or sanitize her own! To each their own but if they had been watching their kid they would see the toys and place them into the appropriate sanitizing bins- which I though was a great idea. If they had another teacher/ caregiver in the play area this situation would also have been avoided and I would not have been the one to pick up the dirty toys. I know they're new and still getting staff and teachers and maybe ironing out some stuff but the covid protocols was one I thought was a deal breaker for my family. If you're announcing on your website and to parent groups that you are upholding strict covid protocols I would appreciate and expect them to follow the guidelines as they outline on their website. I understand this place wants to be open minded and safe place for all walks of life but when you're not engaging with the families and don't realize that maybe some kids may be sick, or you know and you're letting it slide, I feel that's a red flag.
This place is located in a rundown building with multiple suites. The actual office is upstairs, which is difficult to get to with young children. There is an elevator you can opt to take versus the stairs, but there is usually a homeless man sleeping right in front of it so not my preferred choice. The actual "therapy" office is old and dirty all around. The waiting room is puny with stained chairs. The toys in there are also dirty. Tatev Darbinian is extremely unorganized--and probably untrained. They also don't let you schedule appointments until they have "official" proof that your insurance covers services. I guess they only care about the money, but fail to realize how many well-to-do patients they have--who could easily pay out of pocket if need be. Additionally, stinky Tatev Darbinian only see your child for half an hour, which makes this place an extreme waste of time to come to. This place clearly doesn't care about their cleanliness, professionalism, or potential patients. So...I don't care to ever come back!
I had a very bad experience with Loriani Speech therapy run by shaddy Tatevik Darbinian. On the first day I decided to stop any service from this organization. I felt, Loriani Speech is run very unprofessionally and their processes are loosely handled. I had billing issues on the first day. I would recommend caution and avoid for this organization.
The facility is located in the horrible neighborhood with homeless sleeping under the stairs etc. people smoking on the first floor, so the smoke were coming inside the room during the session. their air conditioner does not work, so we had sessions in the room with temperature of 98f inside the room. The place is outdated, everything is falling apart. The bathroom is very dirty and small. The waiting room is small. The speech therapist Tatevik Darbinian is a joke and I felt like she did not make any individualized plan for my child's needs. She never send me the materials I was asking her to send me through email. The only one They can only schedule 2 weeks in advance, so sometimes we didn't receive the time we needed. Sometimes instead of 1 h session they offered us 30 min and the time was not convenient for my son's schedule with 20h aba a week. Avoid Tatev Darbinian at all costs. Unexperienced and unprofessional.
I rate a one star. As a concerned parent I feel it's important to let people know that Tatev Tiffany Darbinian is not professional. She kept asking for money and wanted to charge for reports constantly she would surprise me with large bills and demand money in cash. I do not recommend and will find someone more experienced and not a crook like her.
Very unprofessional. Very small cramped place. Does not want parents to see the therapies and it because some times the door has opened and they are not even giving therapy. Disrespectful Tatevik Darbinian . Do not show intetest about children just money. They encourage children to go sick with flu to not lose bills. You request to see what they are billing on your account and they do not want to give it. they use any excuse to not give it. All about money. Very sad the situation for special needs children
It's very clear this agency doesn't care about the children they are supposed to be helping. They view them as "caseloads" and care more about the money they can make. I would avoid as best as you can.
WARNING! I strongly believe this location is not honest in regards to pricing and how they want to get paid in cash. They seem to know and find loop holes. Spoke to Tiffany Darbinian who seemed to be talking like she was walking in egg shells. I think she had to much to drink.
A total disaster! She asked me to meet at a coffee shop in Glendale to hand her $1000 or she would make sure my I lose my son in my custody battle. A total con artist and fraud. Avoid this piece of SH*T if you can.
I do not recommend this place to any parent. They only care about them and not the children they are suppose to treat and help. After months of waiting for my son to get the therapy they decide to not deal with insurance issues and tell me that they will not help my son. I wait for them to finish al the process now because of them. I have to start all over again and what bothers me is that they jus do not care about the children who need to therapies. A place like this should be all about them. They do not care if they get behind in their learning. Their management is only about get paid. They left my son lose months in the waiting just to not help him. Months that are very important at this young age. Treatment as so
I am very disappointed with the customer service from Loriani Speech. We had two problems during this time first, my sessions were in the morning and weeks before my son was going to begin another program in the morning I let the front desk know and I talked to Tatev about switching to the afternoon and finding another therapist in that schedule she said was going to look for that when the time arrived her response was "we don't have any availability at that time" so we had to change to do one session per week instead of two like we were doing. Also she added "I let your coordinator know if you want to change providers" at that point I didn't like that answer because is not easy to start over it takes time to find another one and to get to know the therapist and get my son to feel comfortable working with a new person, etc. my response was "I told you in advance so you can manage to find a way of helping us" but she was not helpful at all I felt like she just wanted me to change instead of working out with me another time or something... I decided to stay at least with one day than no days and after talking with us she offered to come to my house to do the other session even tough it was not her location, that was great and I felt she cared and wanted to help us. After that we were doing good and couple weeks ago I received a call from someone I can't remember her name saying that our therapist was going to leave and she couldn't guaranteed that I was going to have in home sessions but for sure I was going to continue with one hour at the clinic. I told her I needed the two hours and she said was going to work in that. Last time I was at the clinic I had to talk with Natalia again regarding that and her response was the same as the first time, no availability and look for another provider at that point I was really bothered for her lack of customer service and I told her the same thing they knew before me the therapist was leaving why they didn't try to find a solution or work with me in a different time or options she said was going to ask somebody else who was working in my case and until today I never heard from anybody. I called today to find out if we had an appointment or not since nobody contacted me and her answer was "we already informed your coordinator that we are not longer going to provide services for your son" Really???? Where is the customer care there???? Is so sad when you feel you are treated just like a business and not like a person that needs help.. I am very disappointed with this place I will never recommend it to anybody and I wish I would have never need them in the first place. Now I am with out a provider looking everywhere where they can take my son's case and he had just 2 months left before turning 3 and then his services are going to end and we are wasting precious time... So sad
Tatev Tiffany Darbinian is very rude and hard to work with. The place is not very clean, and is very loud. Took months and many emails and phone calls to get OT reports. Told me my insurance would reimburse me 90% of the cost and they only gave back 10%. Total liar and dishonest person. Avoid her.
Don't choose Loriani Speech or Tatev Darbinian for your child. They decided to drop my son's case because of "low attendance" my son started at a busy time for my work. (I waited months for a speech therapist for a replacement for speech)I had to go out of town for work and I let the therapist know.Only one of my no shows was due to vacation which was on me I completely admit. When we finally are able to attend every week and slow with work she drops my case. No warnings with this company so be prepared.

Tatev Darbinian sucks! I called to inquire about their services and whoever was answering phones today was so rude. Please know that during this pandemic, it is not an easy decision to have my child and myself (currently expecting another child) be exposed to an unfamiliar environment, which is why I want to make sure that I find the right speech therapist before signing up for anything, hence my questions and research. In the past, I have dealt with therapy centers that actually had their therapists' bios on their websites. This one did not and so I wanted to learn more about their therapists as well as the center's COVID precautionary measures. If by any chance it is your company policy to not share this type of information then just say so. Don't be rude and hang up abruptly on me. From the beginning of the conversation, I could tell she just wanted to get this call over with and I heard a child in the background. Was she answering the phone while in a speech therapy session??? This is basically how the conversation went. Not in exact words but you get the feel of it: Me: I would like to inquire about your speech therapy services. Staff: What insurance do you have? Me: xxxxxxx Staff: We only accept cash Me: Okay, I'll submit the bill to the insurance company. Staff: Has your child been evaluated? Me: Yes, it was less than a year ago. Staff: Well, if they were evaluated more than a year ago then you will have to get them evaluated again. Me: Like I said, they were evaluated less than a year ago. Staff: You need to submit their evaluation and physician's prescription. Me: Ok, but before that I would like to learn more about the services you provide. Staff: What do you need to know? Me: Well... First, are you providing center-based or home-based? Staff: Center-based. Me: Is your center abiding by all COVID-19 restrictions? Staff: Yes. (gave me basic info on policies related to masks and signing a COVID waiver) Me: I would love to learn about your therapists and their experience/qualifications. Would I be able to see their bios on your website? Staff: No. Me: Ok so can you tell me about your therapists? Staff: They are speech pathologists (and some other basic generic info). Me: So I actually would like to know more about who the therapists are and their qualifications and experience (before we decide to get therapy services outside of our home and sign some COVID waiver). Can you provide their names (so I can maybe look them up)? Staff: (rudely just gives me three first names). Me: Can you give me their last names too? Staff: (rudely) gives me one last name "Darbinian". (only after I ask for others, she provided without spelling out any of them. I asked her to spell two of them for me as they were long or distinct names to me). Me: Ok thanks. (verified the items I needed to submit if interested) Staff: Bye (CLICK. Hung up on me) Me: ...... I don't ever write reviews here on yelp so this is very rare for me to do but I thought it was necessary. These are very tough times for all of us and especially children with special needs. Online therapy is just not an ideal method especially for some children who may have other developmental delays. It is tough to see our children fall behind even more but we also want to make sure our children are safe and healthy. As a parent of a child with special needs (and expecting another child), I want to make sure going out to a center and exposing ourselves to an unfamiliar environment is worth the risk. Was I asking too many questions? I certainly do not think so. I will be sharing my review on other special needs parents groups as well.
