In 9/22, I called for an appt. for a physical which the office scheduled for 12/28/22, but because THEY (office personnel) cancelled TWICE, I was actually seen on 1/20/23. From the dr., I then learned during the January 20 visit that I had to choose between the physical I sought 0R the prescription refills I also needed, since it would take “too much time “ to do both in a single visit.
I opted for the refills. Dr. Bernadin was noticeably agitated , even argumentative, and quite brusque, bordering on being rude, during that visit which was my very first encounter with her. I felt very much like I had walked into an assembly line approach to my care. However, I accepted a follow-up appt.for March to address a problem she uncovered during that visit. On the morning of that ( March) follow up appt., though, I had a plumbing emergency requiring my immediate attention causing me to miss the office visit. Despite the fact, I had endured two prior cancellations on their end ( without even an apology for the inconvenience), I was charged and subsequently paid a $25 no show fee in that instance.
In a totally separate transaction, the office would later call with an offer to schedule the physical I had initially sought back in Sept. of the previous year. I accepted the time slot. On the MORNING of that appt., though, I got yet another call from her office, this time cancelling the appt. for the physical. At that point, I knew it was time to move on!! Of the three cancellations I endured from December to March, the reasons I received were : 12/28, the dr. would be out of the office visiting family; the last two cancellations were due to Dr. Bernadin being ill, according to her office personnel. I inquired about the ability to see a physician’s assistant or a nurse practitioner on staff in such cases; the doctor’s subsequent reply was I would still have to see her even in such cases!!
I was disappointed and subsequently frustrated on so many levels throughout this entire process.
