I needed to have a cracked filling replaced in a lower right molar.
after the old filling was replaced, my bite was off, so I went back to see if the filling could be evened out.
I complained that my jaw hurt.  I didn't realize at the time that I was clenching and grinding my teeth at night, which I hadn't done before and was now doing due to stress... and that this was the reason my jaw was hurting, not because of the filling.  The dentist didn't think of that as an option, and my molar ended up being filed down too much, resulting in an abscess.  By this time, I no longer had insurance.  I went to a local charity, and they gave me an antibiotic, and referred me to an endodontist to have a root canal. Thankfully, I didn't have to pay for the services.
