Dr. Sheri Ann Borbon Cameron, MD

I am 74 years old and wanted to establish care with a UCSD affiliated doctor. After two days of online research, I chose Sheri Cameron, MD. I called and was given a phone appointment the next day.  As a new patient, I was impressed that she had already researched me and my chief complaint (painful finger joints.) She listened, asked questions, and asked for photos. She made referrals the very next day and I saw an orthopedic surgeon two weeks later who drained one Heberden node and gave me injections for immediate relief. Further, she gave me rerrals to a hand specialist, cardiologist, dermatologist, and an endocrinologist. She also ordered labs which were done in her office.  I made an in person appointment for my annual wellness exam onlt three weeks after we established care.  I found her to be very pleasant, thorough, and responsive.  I am also very impressed with the patient portals (Perlman Clinic and UCSD) who linked with my records from Scripps and Sharp. I do have Medicare AND a PPO (excellent insurance,) and that makes it easier.  My prior PCP of 25 years retired. I chose Dr. Cameron because she is young but experienced. I plan to live another 25 years, and I hope she will be my PCP at least that long. The  three different people at reception seemed indifferent. The desk was vacant when I entered. After a few minutes a young man came in and sat down without acknowledging me. When he did, it was only to ask if i hdmad an appointment. No greeting.  He gave me a form to complete, even though i had completed it online. It was in Spanish, when i clearly speak English. A young woman came in who showed him where to verify my completed form and showed me four questions I still needed to answer. I asked for an English for. She looked annoyed and didnt apologize. She left and another young lady came in. When i turned in the form, she informed me that there were several blank pages. I waited to see if the young man would catch her up, but he stayed mute. I said oh, she wasn't there. I expected her to ask the young man, but she just stared at me like i was the one who was dense. When i repeated that I had completed it on line, she didn't apologize or acknowledge the confusion. It's a tiny office so I thought the staff would be more friendly. Btw, i didn't feel the needle stick for the blood draw at all. Perfect execution! Bravo!

Rude insulting and would not take one minute to let me finish a statement to explain my condition she seemed to know everything about me before I even open my mouth she condemned me prior to investigating my health issues isn't this supposed to be the opposite of what doctors do. I was so frustrated and saddened by the experience I got up and walked out and then they had the nerve to even charge me for the insulting consultation.  The only advice she could give me is to see a psychiatrist and I told her she should read a book about how to be an average doctor. Cuz she was way below

I just had a first-time consultation with Shari Cameron, M.D. at the North Park office and it was the worst experience I have ever had with a physician. I had a few general health questions that I wanted to discuss as it was my first time visiting. One of them was an earache. After maybe 5 minutes of discussion - and discussion is really being generous, it was more of her shortly answering, dismissing, or postponing each topic for the "next visit to establish general care" which is what I thought I was there to do - she examined my ears, and I could feel her hands shaking. I am not sure if she was angry, anxious, or has an essential tremor. I tried to put it out my mind and focus on having a productive visit. She called in a prescription for ear drops. Finally, I had the audacity to tell her that I thought it inefficient to have two visits as opposed to one. Her response with a trembling voice: "if you don't like it, go somewhere else" and without another word she stood up and left the room.  

Made up her mind before I met her. She refused to actually listen to what I was telling her my symptoms were and when I asked what I should do she told me "figure it out" and "you were fine months ago, do that again". 

I asked "so that's how it's going to be?" and she just nodded and smiled. Insanity.
