Where to start... This was my first experience with Acupuncture whatsoever, and if I had stopped at this visit with Scot I would have never realized the benefits acupuncture has to office. As I am sure I had more questions than he wanted, being since it was my first visit, I sensed Scot flustered during the visit. He seemed annoyed at my inquisitiveness and got frustrated with me on more then one time during the office visit. I was a couple minuets early for the visit and he seemed surprised at me being there.. When I told him what I was experiencing pain-wise, he seemed to discount what I was saying as me being "scattered" about my pain experience...not what you want in a practitioner you are hoping will provide you with some relief. Then when he said he wanted to put the pins on my very lower back, (which since it was my first visit I wasn't 100% comfortable with but let him do anyways). I at first objected but he persisted so I let him. He seemed to completely dismissed my neck pain, and when I brought it back up to him, he then put one-solitary-pin in my neck, I assume to help with the pain, which was fine... ....UNTIL HE FORGOT IT IN MY NECK.... This was realized after the entire session was over, I had reclothed what was needed and had put my scarf back on when I realized a sharp pain in my neck, when I reached around (and realized he hadn't taken the pin out he then), he then reached up and removed it saying which doing so "that must've fallen", I did not comment as I was astounded I was about to walk out of there with a needle in me and my "doctor" was telling me it had to have dropped on me....FROM WHERE THE SKY? You just put a needle in my neck, forgot about it, then lied to me after we both realized what had just happened. Maybe if the rest of the visit was pleasant, helpful, or anywhere close to as valuable as the $174 price tag I had to pay for it I wouldn't have minded...but it wasn't. I felt bad before, during, and especially after the visit. And would not go back or recommend him to anyone. Truly I would have thought all acupuncturists were a waste of time had I not already made, and ended up keeping, another appointment with a different acupuncturists, Jen Katz who was fantastic. But I need people to be careful of this one. He will give you the wrong impression. All in all, it was a really bad experience and I would have never gone to a Acupuncturist again if I hadn't already made another appointment and didn't want to cancel it, now I am so glad I went to someone else. I would definitely recommend her or really anyone else just to not taint what you think of this healing method. I have been nothing but pleased since leaving Scot Somes office for a different doctor. I feel as though she has helped me with pain, mobility, and range of motion which I would have not experienced any of these wonderful benefits had I ran from Acupuncture the moment after meeting Scot Somes...which I am afraid most people do with the experience I had in his office...hence this review. Hope it helps and good luck :)
