Sandra Aguilar

Sandra Aguilar was hired as a paid supervisor of a parent during child visitation.  The supervision never occurred; however, she immediately became a consultant to the parent to provide services during a custody litigation and was named as a witness in the case.  As is typical during the course of litigation discovery, Ms. Aguilar was required to produce her file to the opposing party.  She never produced one single piece of paper or electronic file, claiming that her computer was “hacked.”  Lo and behold several years later, she received a public reprimand by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors for failing to maintain client records in another matter.  This is the public reprimand she AGREED to, and did not necessarily encompass every complaint against her which could have resulted in private reprimands.  Today, she works for a law firm as a “Family Law Specialist” with “vast experience with families involved in divorce and custody litigation.”  Her counseling license is still active, but one should question whether practicing as an LPC while an employee for a law firm is ethical.  If you are involved in any current or potential custody dispute and have options, do your homework, check websites and read reviews.

The belabored cliché question, “How does that make you feel?”  - the kids would roll their eyes every time she kept repeating this. 
Consistent condescending attitudes toward our kids / her paying clients
Skips building trust or rapport -  well we understood why - she was working for the attorney and would be paid no matter what happened to our kids.
