I did not choose Roman Rodriguez. I was assigned to him upon my release from SF General. The health care system demands psychiatrists incorporate a small percentage of patients from mental health care facilities into their practice. Otherwise, there would be no available psychiatrists to help the "problem patients" from the psychiatric wards. It was obvious that Roman Rodriguez did not like accepting these patients because he does not receive the same compensation that he receives from his patients that pay his fees "out of pocket". Rather than trying to help me with my problems, instead, Roman chose to keep himself out of jeopardy by pumping me full of drugs I did not need until I was rendered completely numb mentally. If I did not create any trouble for society, Roman Rodriguez considered his job to be done. Once extremely doped out of my mind, Roman Rodriguez chose to see me only 4-times per year. He billed my insurance for a full hour, but my appointments only lasted about five minutes per visit (tops). Roman Rodriguez only took the time to refill my prescriptions during those few minutes and nothing more. After creating my 6-drug cocktail, Roman Rodriguez never revisited any of my medications nor did he ever reassess my metal state for the remaining decade+ that I was under his care. His treatment of me was extremely dangerous/harmful, and his choice for handling me was negligence of the grossest kind. I've spent the last 1.5 years weening myself off three of those six drugs and I still have three more of Roman Rodriguez's prescribed poisons to kick = another year, but probably more. My existence during 2005 – 2023+ can be written off = ages 28 – 46+ = gone/spent/wasted (in more ways than one) in a pharmaceutical haze because a shallow man took his frustrations with heath care system's forced pay-cut out on me. I did NOTHING to him. What he did to me is inexcusable. Because Roman Rodriguez was forced to take me on as a patient for lower pay, he chose to give me his bone-bare minimum effort; violating his Hippocratic oath. Roman Rodriguez would have only seen me once a year, if possible. However, the maximum of three-month prescription drug refills required Roman Rodriguez to see me a minimum of 4-times per year and that was all I got – four appointments per year. As a patient, Roman Rodriquez did not give me the time of day and I placed my full trust in him. That was a near fatal error (literally). A person petty enough to ruin someone's life because they are disgruntled for being forced to accept a lower pay rate by the system that control their profession should NEVER be granted a license in psychiatry (of anything else for that matter). Leaving a patient on an extreme amount of psychiatric medication unchecked for a very long duration will likely impart looming, destroying consequences on that patient. Roman Rodriguez was aware of the damage that type of negligence can cause to a patient, and he did not care. Roman Rodriguez, himself, is beyond the help of psychiatry. His actions are cold, selfish, unsympathetic. and sociopathic.
