Maybe she was having a bad day, but her tone and her words conveyed to me annoyance, exasperation, impatience, and disapproval from the start. I left our first meeting shaking and crying. And I didn't even tell her a single thing about my life; we were just going over the 20 pages of forms that she asked me to print out on paper at home and bring to the meeting. We met on the phone, because that was the only method she offered. She only does remote meetings these days, which is fine with me. I requested a video meeting like on Skype or zoom or similar so we could see each other's faces. She said no, possibly for a future meeting but not for the first meeting. I felt condescended to, unwelcome, and unsafe.
