Disappointed with lack of professionalism.  I've switched therapists 3 times now due to moving or change in insurance, but never due to their lack of professionalism until now... Niyatee is relatively early in her career, and the care you will receive will be very reflective of that.  Many times in our sessions Niyatee seemed very unsure of how to respond when I mentioned times of hardship (i.e. death of a loved one).  Niyatee also has a very limited availability, which I was willing to work around. On maybe my 2nd or 3rd appointment with Niyatee she cancelled 5 min prior to the meeting.  I was fine with rescheduling as I understand life happens.  However, this same consideration was not reciprocated.  As she had a limited availability I anticipated there would likely be a conflicts with my schedule,  so I asked what her cancellation policy was.  Niyatee politely informed me 24 hours.  If I texted her about scheduling she would usually not reply until a day or two later. Understanding this was her policy I ALWAYS gave her at least 24 hours notice. The most recent appointment we had I texted her 3 days prior to notify her that I had a work obligation and would be unable to make that time (her last time slot I believe was 3-4pm -- during work hours for me).  She replied and let me know that this cancellation was an inconvenience for her and requested that I needed to provide more notice. This was not the policy communicated with me and is not realistic for me as sometimes I don't have more than 3 days notice of a prior obligation.  Needless to say, Niyatee was not a good fit for me.
