Some of my test results were normal, for the general public, but of concern because my history has an established baseline substantially different. Rather than waste time on why normal is a good thing, He immediately moved on to my individual particulars. This was a first visit. Sometimes it takes a while to convince a provider that l'm having a problem. Dr Olney took me at my word and we moved on to my concerns. Also he was prepared for our meeting by having actually read my history. Our first visit was very productive and he is following up with my other providers. Sort of a hit the ground running approach. At my age some problems aren't fixable, so we immediately proceeded with how to cope with reality. Most people it would take months to get up to speed. The guy has his act together.

I always look forward to seeing Dr. Olney, not only because be is excellent at what he does and how he helps me, but he takes time to connect on a more personal level. He really listens and clearly expresses when he might be out of his depth but always has ideas and suggestions for what we can do, which of my other providers might be able to help, what kind of research he might do, or what kinds of referrals could lead to the help I require. He carefully considers my concerns and suggestions, and explains why they are or are not helpful and viable. Dr. Olney remembers who I am and I never feel like just another patient; that really means something, in this industry.

I appreciate that Dr. Olney listens and provides feedback and ultimately takes into consideration and proceeds with what his patient (me) needs and wants. This is what good doctors do and there are so few good doctors out there.Also with regard to referring people to a provider or organization, I typically do not do that, ever. I said I would in this survey because if I knew someone had ALS and needed a provider, going to see Dr. Olney at the ALS clinic is what I would recommend to them.

Dr. Olmey was knowledgeable about the last cognitive assessment I had 2 years ago, with different physician who is retiring soon. He used the outcomes from the earlier visit as integral to his assessment of my current cognitive functioning. He asked precise and pertinent questions during his evaluation. Generally, his communication was very clear. He was also kind, patient, and caring though he was under some time pressure.

This is the first timeI have seen this doctor and it took several months to get an appointment. But he immediately made referrals for me to see others to determine my condition. He did not have all the records from past tests but he will before I see him again in December. Which, again is quite a long time.

He's wonderful. Follows thru even after the visit. Makes sure I know phone numbers for folks he's referring me to. I may have to wait when I get there but that's because he's giving the prior person the same time and care he gives me. You wait for the best and it's worth it.

Dr Olney has been very open, he listens to what I have to say as well as my daughter, who is with me each visit with Dr Olney. He is kind, gentle, clear in his explanations with my condition. He makes me feel very comfortable and protected in his care.
