Dr. Navid Sharif, DMD

Within the last year and a half I had gotten my wisdom teeth removed and lost an additional molar because it had been impacted by one of the wisdom teeth.

I attempted to get a bone graft so that I could get an implant for the missing molar, but was told by the surgeon from Federal Way Modern Dentistry that it didn't take, but that I could be fine without getting an implant if that's what I chose to do.

After a regular dental visit to Tacoma Smiles, I was told I should really look into an implant again to prevent other dental issues that can arrise from a missing molar. I was referred to Dr. Navid Sharif, the specialist at Tacoma Smiles.

I raised my concerns with the failed bone graft with Dr. Sharif. He still wanted to continue with the implant procedure after performing an x-ray, but not contacting the previous surgeon, even though they work in relatively close proximity with one another.

After he numbed me and cut me open, mid-procdure he tells me the bone graft has failed and won't hold the implant, and that he will have to close me back up. After everything he had done, after starting the procedure and closing me back up is when he decides he should contact the previous surgeon. His advice after needlessly cutting me open and disregarding what I had told him about the failed bone graft? You need to go see the previous surgeon.

Dr. Sharif seems very short-sighted and unable to do his due diligence, which is a very large concern with someone performing invasive dental procedures like this. I don't recommend him.
