Dr. Navan Patel, DDS

From calling to make the appointment, to check-in, to the dental cleaning, to final evaluation by Dr. Navan Patel, the experience was pleasantly surprising.  The young man I spoke with over the phone (Abdan?...sorry if it’s misspelled) listened to my concern about encountering demands for co-pay upfront only to find out later on that I had been  overcharged; and had to fight to get a refund. He was so accommodating and explained that he would submit a pre-authorization which would yield an EOB, before the treatment. That way I would know, in advance, what amount I had pay after insurance was applied. Doing things that way would remove any worry about being overcharged. When I went to the office for the appointment, I found him to be genuinely kind and respectful. The dental hygienist (Ashton) was equally as pleasant and polite. She explained everything step by step, so that I was comfortable with the procedure. Dr. Patel matched the wonderful warmth of his staff and explained his finding clearly. He suggested treatment but was not pushy. As an African American, I have gone into many health-related facilities and felt less than comfortable interacting with the personnel. I felt a sense of negative bias and worried that I was getting the best treatment, which is frightening when your health is at stake. From beginning to end, I felt welcome and well-treated at Patel Dental Care.
