As a depression sufferer, one of my worst fears is rejection. I have been dealing with a lot of stress lately and my blood pressure is quite high. My doctor prescribed additional antidepressants and also put me on blood pressure medication. She also referred me to a psychiatrist and after looking on the Aetna website for someone local, I found Dr Peltz. He sounded really nice on the phone and we made an appointment for 6.45pm tonight. I took an Uber to his office and was there exactly 6.45pm. He came down in the elevator and greeted me in the foyer, apologising for apparently double booking, so he was unable to see me. He asked if I wanted to wait for half an hour. Now, if there was a waiting room or somewhere cool for me to sit down, I might have considered it. But, I wanted to burst into tears at that moment - how can he do that to someone as vulnerable as me?!?! Does he not understand that part of my sadness / anxiety is being let down by people? He is supposed to be there to support me. I am most definitely not going to book another session with him, even if he is the last therapist in NJ!!!
