Dr. Matthew C. Ng, MSD, DMD

I started seeing Dr. Ng in January 2018 for orthodontic work. The initial consultation seemed good and I was fitted for Clear Correct aligners on my top teeth and traditional brackets on my bottom teeth, only on the sides. After a couple visits, I found out he would be adding attachments to the front of my top teeth, which made the aligners much more visible. I wasn't happy since I wasn't expecting this, but I should've done more research. The problem was that he kept insisting he had told me about the attachments, which was not true, and it was frustrating to be continuously told that I must not remember correctly.

Later in my treatment, I became concerned that my bottom front teeth were becoming much more crooked than when I started. Apparently the ends of the brackets were pushing my teeth together, which seems like a problem that should have been anticipated. The only real option for fixing this was to add brackets onto my bottom front teeth, which I would never have agreed to at the beginning of treatment since I didn't want any of this to be visible. I chose not to add brackets, so my bottom front teeth look worse than when I started.

By far the biggest issue has been dealing with payment and insurance. Dr. Ng is part of the DentalWorks network and either they or the manager that works with him (Mindy) have submitted my claim incorrectly multiple times. They have absolutely no sense of urgency to fix the issues, despite putting me at risk of losing money from my flex account due to the delays. Dr. Ng and Mindy travel to different offices every day, so it's extremely difficult to contact anyone or get a response in a timely manner. 

I would not recommend using this orthodontist.
