Dr. Moosavi was my first gynecologist and the first appointment I had with her was cold and dismissive, but I've always heard that gynecology exams are uncomfortable so I accepted this as the norm. As I was dressing to leave my appointment, I noticed she left patient records up on her screen. I lived in a small town and recognized names of friends or people I knew on the screen. I dressed quickly and left. A couple years later I developed a bartholin cyst that became infected during the first part of the 2020 quarantine. Her office diagnosed me over the phone and refused to see me in person. She prescribed antibiotics and no pain relief. The cyst ruptured at home and appeared to clear up. When her office was accepting patients, I scheduled an appointment because the area was bruised and still swollen. I was concerned it would become infected and rupture again. She barely looked at me and then gave me a 15 minute lecture on safe BDSM practices. When I explained I had safe, non-aggressive, and consensual sex with a partner recently she shamed me from having pre-martial sex and gave me a lecture on how she doesn't get "hook up culture" and I need to be careful.

After leaving that appointment, a couple months later the bruise developed into a blood blister which once again, ruptured painfully at home.

I've since moved out of state and found a new gynecologist who is monitoring the cyst because it is still a problem even without me having sex since my last visit to Dr. Moossavi. My new doctor gave me information on what caused it, what causes it to get infected, how I can monitor its health, and my options for removal. None of which Dr. Moossavi did.

I've had several friends who also had her as a doctor because in the small town we lived in, physicians were limited. If she is the most convenient option, I advise you to look outside of the area. She should not be in practice anymore.
