Dr. Carcas was referred to me by a close friend who was about 6 months ahead of me with a breast cancer diagnosis.   I live in Key Largo and she is about 1 hr and 45 minutes from my home.  There are a lot of oncologists much closer at MCI in Kendall but I could not get an appointment with the other doctors for weeks.  I figured I would see her once and then transfer to a closer doctor.  Well, after I met her the first time,  I decided she is worth the drive.  This is my life that I am entrusting her with.  This doctor really cares.  I've even seen her get a little tear in her eye.  Mind you, she is no "push over".  If you want a doctor who will tell you what you want to hear and do whatever you ask, she may not be the doctor for you.   I appreciate her honesty and firmness in helping me navigate one of the hardest times of my life.    She helped me manage my symptoms as I struggled through chemo.  She even reminded my husband in a kind way that she was the doctor and would manage my care but she would listen to his concerns.  I made it through a year of treatment and I am cancer free.   I would not hesitate to recommend her.  She is so very talented and amazing and I feel so blessed to have found her in a world where finding a quality healthcare provider who cares is almost impossible.
