so i went into the ER with respiratory issues (context: it's something my GP has already referred me to a pulmonologist for, but the appointment is a ways out) and he went out of his way to be rude, to the point of writing a petulant and unprofessional note on the "additional patient instructions" for my discharge papers (seriously?).

i came in with a sample and once he arrives, before i could even get a word in, holds the thing an inch from my face (yup.) and explains why it was stupid for me to come in, having glanced at it for maybe a few seconds. the nurse and med student who were in room with us even looked taken aback by his weird and abrasive behavior.

he also mentions, in front of these other staff, something to the effect of me having been there a few times for "coughing" with a dismissive smirk on his face.

for context, i was in there a few months ago - came in coughing up blood - turned out to be pneumonia. mind you this guy wasn't even my doctor that night, but of course he must have been on call that day and remembered my face or something (he'd have actually known why i was there before if he were actually reading my chart).

after chewing me out, he also made me wait nearly 2 hours just to print out my discharge papers. i assume because he wanted to "teach me a lesson" for wasting his time. 2 hours so that i could wait for a take-home note tinged with passive aggressiveness.

who behaves like this? in any setting, let alone as a doctor? it'd have taken you less time to not be a jerk, but i guess trying to embarrass someone worried enough about a thing that they'd drive to the ER at 2 am was the point.

usually i'd never bother writing a "review" like this, but this guy was terrible last night. all of the other doctors and nurses i've interacted with at greenview have been kind and helpful. this guy was an unfortunate outlier, but i felt compelled to share.

it was just strange seeing someone working at an ER act so immature.
