Ms. Kathy Ann Callahan, LCSW

I met with Kathy Callahan, LCSW, on and off for three years. I was seeking a motivating life coach and counseling! Initially, I was impressed by the fact that she was trained at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Where I grew up. She has ongoing post graduate training at Harvard, U of Pennyslvania in the latest, research based therapy skills, methods. 

What I like about her is her warmth, positive energy: incredible ability to listen and remember what I share with her from week to week. She doesn't take notes during sessions like therapists I have seen in the past.  That can be distracting during a session. She will give you her undivided attention.  I have referred Kathy Callahan to several people who are pleased to know her as a caring and effective therapist. 

I contacted Kathy during a time in my life when I suffered from general anxiety, worry, never ending grief and writers block!  She specializes in working with creatives like myself because she understands. In September 2011 I lost a brother and cousin who were fire fighters saving people on 9-11.


Callahan made a short biographical film, that was commissioned by Bruce Springsteen, about a deeply profound true story that Callahan, Terry Magovern and Bruce Springsteen shared.  "Mystery Of Faith and Intention" On You tube and premiered at Ridgewood NJ Film Festival in April 2014.

I discovered that she is the recipient of a very prestigious annual national award for her work.  Being Irish American I was impressed.

Ms Callahan works with artists and writers empowering them to find their voice, tell there story and write a book, do stand up, paint...
