First, my first appointment was cancelled due to a "scheduled" emergency. On the day of my rescheduled appointment Dr Morchat was late by at least 30 minutes because of a personal matter.
The staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable. They took several x-rays and pictures of my mouth and teeth. The dentist came in to review their "findings". I needed more than a routine cleaning, which is fine. I need a special cleaning though. The dentist will not do a normal routine cleaning without doing a scaling and deep gum cleaning. Okay, fine but it is going to cost me over $500. Next, she said I needed two crowns AND they could do it the same day! That procedure would cost me another $2300. If I had the time that afternoon everything could be taken care of and all I would have to pay is $2800. I was also told I had a couple of cavities and that we would address those at a later time. I felt very pressured to have the cleaning and crowns done that same day. I scheduled the appointments a couple of weeks apart. Then after some more thought I cancelled the appointments and wanted to decide for myself what was priority for my dental care needs. I called the office and asked if I could get a regular cleaning. They said they would not recommend a routine cleaning nor would they do that. I was told I had to have the extra cleanings. At that point I decided I needed to find another dentist. This experience, for me, with this office is that I felt rushed to do dental work.
