Dr. Kamal Raj Joshi, MD

Arrived early and into the office. Nurse knew I was nervous, frightened, she looked me right in the eye and told me that all would be okay-to get with it...trust. Believe in grace, myself and healing, and the health care coming my way. The Doctor was not pushy gave pros and cons for the procedure I have repeatedly told cannot be done. He listened to me, sat close and met me eye to eye answering every questions and listening to me. I could see he had read my entire history of this A-Fib journey. He held a little heart in his hand with a loving touch and said..... I can do this..... And I knew he could and would take great care of me and my heart that needs his care. Though Ive been told this cannot be done - it can it may fail its a 50-50% chance of getting done to perfection......and I look foreward to being in this Dr Care. Every friend I have from two brother In laws, one nephew and one dear lifetime friend have chosen this route they are all healthy and off those meds.

There seems to be a lot of turnover, disruption at Providence Cardiology in Olympia. I had two cardiologists leave in the past year or so. Then I tried to make an appointment with a new cardiologist, and I was facing open heart surgery in Swedish Hospital, Seattle. The Olympia office initially hesitated to assign me to the doctor I had chosen, and then they could not give me an appointment until several months later! My appointment was two months after my heart surgery. So, we used it as a post-op visit, but I never did meet him before the surgery. I am very pleased with his demeaner and his explanations, however. I'm glad he is my regular cardiologist now. The one I saw recently, the one about whom this survey was sent, is only managing my new pacemaker.

Doctor was professional, but did not exhibit a "warm" personality. He seemed very rushed and cut me off more than once. He didn't seem to know my history in advance. I had to wait quite a while past my appointment time to see him. This visit could easily have been done over a computer, but instead I had to take time off to travel to the office and also to wait for his availability.

I am very pleased with the care I received, Dr Joshi explained everything. I needed to get this surgery no later than 3 days from the day of my appointment, Dr. Joshi explained to me that he would order an emergency surgery for the next day. He did that and I had the surgery. He was very professional and articulate while conveying in a kindly manner

Dr Joshi performed a cardiac ablation on me. I was extremely happy to have this done in Olympia instead of needing to travel to Seattle as I had for the previous one. He discussed with me what I should and shouldn't expect as a result of my treatment and I felt very comfortable with the expectations and outcome.

It was several weeks before I could get an appointment with this provider, and it was for referral after a heart monitor test that had alarming results. He soothed my fears, that the alarming results are of a different location in the heart and therefore less consequential.

I expected to be meeting my new overall cardiologist, but Dr. Joshi is a surgeon assigned to evaluate how my heart is managing my many devices and he did that well. We are waiting for the result of wearing a monitor. I still don't have an overall cardiologist.

He was very knowledgeable about my condition and recommended the best treatment for me. I had the procedure he suggested and it went well. I'm back to my normal activity and expect to be able to get off Plavix in six months. I'm very satisfied how this went

There was a gas leak in the building of my appointment. It was an exercise in patience for both doctors and patients. There was little time for everyone to do everything perfectly. I am satisfied, however, with the service I got under the circumstances.

This was my first visit with Dr. Joshi. He was professional, knowledgeable, caring and attentive to my situation and outcome. I like how he demonstrated and explained my upcoming procedure with a model heart. I felt relaxed and reassured.
