Kaci L. Tibbetts, DDS

My husband and I recently moved to the area and were looking for a new dentist. I was hoping Kaci Tibbetts DDS would be the place we could get dental care done for years to come but I guess we need to keep looking. For my first appointment, I was feeling under the weather with a cough, sore throat, and other covid19 like symptoms, so I had my husband call to reschedule for me. He was told I should be charged a cancellation fee for the late cancel, which was very perplexing because we were following the office’s covid19 guidelines. The appointment was on a Monday and the office is closed Sunday, so there would not have been a way to cancel the appointment a day in advance. This should have been a red flag that the office tries to do what they can to squeeze extra money out of the patients. The cancelation fee was waved but again why would there be any cancelation fee if the patient has any covid19 symptoms. 
I had another recent appointment for a crown. When I called to schedule it, the woman I spoke to noticed I did not have the treatment plan and cost estimate on file. She scheduled the appointment and said someone would follow up with me before the appointment to get me that info. The week of the appointment I realized still did not have the info and called back. I let the nice receptionist know I was concerned that I did not have the info yet and asked if I should push back the appointment or if someone could email me the info ASAP.  I wanted to make sure I had time to reach out to my insurance if I had questions or concerns. She said they would get the info over right away. At 4 pm I still did not have the info and did not want to show up for the appointment with out having an understanding of the treatment plan or costs. I called to reschedule the appointment for another day and the office manager told I would be charged a cancelation fee. I was told I could come in for the appointment and only part a portion or the cost and be billed for the rest later. The issue is not paying the total costs, it was not being able to see and review the plan and costs ahead of time.  I do not feel comfortable going to a place that is not transparent about billing and fees. 
The dentist and hygienist are very friendly and nice, but I am concerned about the lack of follow through and information provided by the office staff.  I work in HR and I am the benefits admin for our company, unfortunately I see a lot of cases where dental offices bill incorrectly to the detriment of the patient.
