Dr. Joseph Zikry, MD

We really appreciate Dr Zikry for his knowledge, skill and experience. He has helped me and my partner with excellent care for various dermatology concerns. I have zero complaints about this excellent doctor. The only snag has been that when I requested an appointment for a recheck (he told me at initial consult to return if my symptoms returned), although the desk staff were friendly and helpful, I was not able to get an appointment for the required renewed care in what I considered a timely window. My partner had an unrelated health emergency a few days before our scheduled appointment with Dr. Zikry, and I felt it would be stressful for us to keep this appointment, but I was afraid to reschedule because of my concern that I might not be seen until fall for symptoms that Dr Zikry had expressed needed prompt care. I know he is super busy, and rightly so, as he is very good! But perhaps it would be wise if scheduling staff provided a few more windows for people needing return care in a prompt timeline.

Dr. Zikry is great! His front office person I spoke to was very kind and thoughtful. Really fantastic actually. I have only postitive things to say about the Dr and the office. LOVE them. That is the good that brings me to the concerning. The front office person was a hero and called me with a cancellation IMMEDIATELY as I had a pre-cancer concern. SO responsive and I am grateful for that. The only negative thing I have to say is that not just this Dr but MOST Drs in Providence BTW are completely booked with only avail 2 months out! Same thing happened to my husband just yesterday with a severe ear concern - NO ENT ANYWHERE in Providence avail. We had to punt and go out of network to an unknown Dr. So my suggestion in this comment it that is something to look at in general. VERY hard to get appts most of Providence !!!! Meanwhile DR. ZIKRY is GREAT and his office too!

Dr Joseph, the first time I met him, he had a nice personality about himself, and my experience with him, I can tell he cared about my issues and concerns, after my first visit with Dr Joseph, I knew he would be the one to take care of me, and now I'm recommending him to my son, Dr Joseph, is friendly, kind, and caring about the patients who come in front of him.... I love the fact that Dr Joseph when he comes into the room, he has an open door policy and he's friendly at that as well... It's very hard to find a doctor like that, and I will definitely recommend him, to my friends and family... And I think his parents, for creating a hero.Thank you

Dr. Zirky just met me, yet he took very good care of me and looked at all the spots on my skin I wanted to show him. I apologized for taking so much of his time over minor complaints and he said, 'no trouble at all, come back and see me anytime.' I wanted to 'puddle up' -- cry a little. What a kind-thing to say to an older lady who just feels like a burden to the world. What a nice young man / doctor. And he gave me good information and advice and took his time with me. Thank him for me, very much.

I had to see someone quickly and I didn't have a regular doctor with this specialty. This doc was referred by urgent care so I did not know what to expect! This doc was great - knowledgeable, explained but didn't mansplain and listened to my concerns. Also he got back to me with results as soon as he got them. He could have waited as it was way faster than the timeline he gave me - so I especially noticed that he could have been doing any number of other things - so I felt valued.

My initial appointment was scheduled for more than a month out, but the office had an appointment open up sooner via a cancellation and called me, which I really appreciated. Once at the appointment, I barely had to wait 2 minutes before they took me in and Dr. Zikry came to see within a few minutes later. Very professional and efficient experience. Dr. Zikry was super thorough, listened intently to all I had to say, and quickly and painlessly took a biopsy.

As soon as Dr.Zikry walked in the room I felt such a welcoming presence and he is so humble, he made this visit such an amazing experience. Dr. Zikry answered all my questions and concerns he made me feel comfortable knowing what I was dealing with.Thank you Dr.Zikry for your patience and understanding. Also thank you to lovely staff from the front desk to the medical assistant for being very kind and helpful.

Dr. Zikry is particularly pleasant. He always treats me with respect, listened to my preferences and did what I wanted when we disagreed based on my past experience, talks to me on an equal level, doesn't minimize my concerns like my last doctor did, doesn't waste time but never makes me feel rushed, answered my email quickly and appropriately when I had some side effects. I am very pleased.

Dr. Joseph has amazing bedside manner; he listens and provides good advice. He is very smart and kind. He does not half-heartedly listen; he respectfully listens and provides his best tailored advice for the situation described. It seems like there's no issue for which he does not have a solution. He's kind but also honest; he'll tell you if an option or solution is no longer effective.

This was the first time seeing Dr. Zikry as my dermatologist due to moving from a different location. He is the first dermatologist to inspect my skin from head to toe. He was very thorough, asked questions and answered mne as he explained me. I was very impressed with his manners and efficiency in the amount of time I was with him. First time feeling cared for by a dermatologist.
