Dr. Jonah Bryan Essers, MD

Happy to finally get to see Dr. Essers. We called the pediatric GI office in Dec 2023, and got to see the temporally Pediatric GI doctor in the very end of April. Was not happy about having to wait so long to get to the first appt because one of 2 doctors was on the leave while my daughter suffered for 4 months without any help. There was some improvement with this doctor, but my daughter continued to struggle with daily stomachaches and some things got worse. (Dr. Bitar Ordered some blood tests and Ultrasound, so Dr. Essers didn't have to do any of them.) My daughter saw Dr. Essers when she was younger probably 5-7 years ago, and he solved her constipation issues. So, it was nice to see him again after I advocated to get my daughter to be seen my the GI doctor that we had good results with. Dr. Essers spent a lot of time with us, explaining the plausible reasons for her stomachaches and gave us lots of information/education. He was very down to earth and passionate, which I appreciated. I hope the new approach will work and my daughter's conditions will finally get better. Thank you, Dr. Essers!

Dr Essers should be consulted by other providers on how to address engagement and care for patients who are from medically marginalized communities. He is trustworthy, listens for understanding, provides thorough explanations. He demonstrates empathy and compassion. It is very clear that he embodies what it means to be a physician who cares about the work, his patients, and the IBD community. He is a partner in care not just a physician. We have been very lucky to have him and have made employment sacrifices to maintain him as our INN medical provider.

Dr. Essers is very attentive, listens carefully and provides the necessary guidance and support to his patients. He believes in taking a holistic approach to healthcare, considering both physical and mental well-being. Dr. Essers emphasizes the importance of open communication between himself and his patients, ensuring they feel comfortable discussing any concerns or questions they may have. His dedication to providing comprehensive care fosters trust and confidence in his patients, leading to positive health outcomes.

Pleasant experience from scheduling through the actual appointment, professional and friendly. Scheduler, front desk, nurse, assistant, and doctor were wonderful. Dr. Essers was respectful and excellent at providing education in a way that was easy to understand. He listened well and took the time to answer questions thoroughly. My daughter and I both left feeling reassured, informed, and with a plan for the future. Thank you!I have already recommended this clinic and doctor to others.

I feel that it's very common now days to have health concerns brushed off by providers and you can feel very unheard. The doctor looked at my child and her records as an individual case and addressed my concerns and we talked about follow care. We were not cared for as if every case he sees is the same and I was so impressed by this. It was really nice to feel like the doctor cared and understood her medical history. I wish there where more doctors like him.

Dr Easers' was the most amazing Dr I have seen in many years. His treatment and best side manner were phenomenal. He explained my daughters condition thoroughly and in such a way that she felt respected, listened to and empowered to put in place the suggestions he made. This was a wonderful experience and I will recommend him to everyone. I have already shared his advice with others so they can benefit from his wisdom.

Beyond grateful for the attitude, efficiency, practicality, and thoroughness of Dr. Essers. He is fantastic with our little one, 2, who is his actual patient, but also with us and in discussing possible implications for the entire family, including our newborn. He and his team are easily accessible and we feel so supported by them. Highly recommended to anyone in our same medical boat!

We never feel rushed during our visits with Dr. Essers. He always takes the time to give us all of the options available and provides literature-based evidence of which pathways are likely to yield positive results. We could not be happier to have our son in this physicians care. Thank you to the entire pediatric care team at Swedish!
