Dr. John Damaskos, D.D.S.

Dr. Damaskos is a great guy and a great emergency dentist. His billing practices, however, are questionable at best. It took nearly 2 months to get a biling statement for our FSA. I don't mean that the FSA was exceedingly particular either. I mean we couldn't get a bill with the names, dates, and costs of the procedures. I could have made one in Microsoft Word in 10 minutes if I had all of the information.  We also had to submit our own claim to our insurance for his reimbursement. We were charged appropriately at the time but he never submitted a claim for the procedures to our insurance company, which I believe would have meant we were on the hook for the costs.

It's a shame, really. He and his wife are very nice people and he is exceptionally good at emergency care. If we were cash patients we may consider sticking with him, but his billing practices are simply unacceptable for a health care provider.
