Dr. John A. Yates, MD

Impressed that doc had all of my lab work from the last blood test- which was with a different provider. Impressed that he poured over much of It In order to address and answer questions along the way.Not sure why he had records from the prior provider, but nothing from my specialist, which is also a Providence doctor, but he did mention he would request the info. Other than that the visit was informative and helpful to me in many ways. He is a good communicator and also helped me locate the old podiatrist I had so we could set up a referral. Advised and told me what to expect of the next visit. Paper work was accurate rate. I would recommend him!

This was an initial meeting to set up Dr Yates as my new PCP. We moved from Hillsboro to Portland, so prior PCP was harder to get to. Dr Yates was congenial, had all the medical records handy, and reviewed everything with me. The discussion was thorough and covered all of my questions. Multiple tests were ordered. One thing that could be changed is that MyChart shows the medical tests ordered, and all say something to the effect of "to be administered as directed by the doctor's office", but I did not get specific instructions as to what prep is required for each test - e.g., fasting, etc.

After expressing my concerns and displeasure of usually having about 7 to 10 minutes to explain my problems to the Dr (knowing all to well the amount of patients needing to be seen) and expecting a cure to be expressed, this time I had everything in a list, and I was extremely impressed that the Dr took the required amount of time needed to address every concern I had. I realized that I need to have everything concerning the appointment down on paper for me as well as sending a message to Dr Yates prior to, so we're both on the same page.

This visit was a first time, new patient visit. Enjoyed meeting Dr. John Yates. He was extremely easy to talk with. He provided me with information I could use. He made me fill that I can trust him with my medical needs. I'm sure that God had sent me to him. If there are any changes with this feeling, I'll definitely let you know! But for now all I can say is, I wish all of the doctors in my past had been like him. Thank you for allowing me to express my experience, and my feelings about him.

My care was great but getting a appointment and finding care in Oregon is a horrible experience I had to schedule an appointment like 4 months out and I am a cancer patient so while you guys are giving great service when you finally get it is great but you may want to look into the scheduling of appointments I feel like that's where your weekends is. But that's just my opinion

Dr Yates was great, best dr experience (besides my brain surgeon) that I've ever had. Knew why I was there before opening door, listened to other questions I had and resolved themmade needed referrals. I dread going to dr appt but this was a very good experience. He made me feel comfortable and he was a normal person!

Still relatively new to the clinic. Gives me the impression that he really listens, cares, and works hard to provide excellent care. I really like Dr. Yates. The only issue is that I get the impression that he is over worked at the clinic. Sometimes it takes a couple months to see him about a non emergency issue.

Dr Yates really was on top of everything I needed and everything that needed to be done he broke down my blood test where I could really understand what was going on explain to me what the numbers were and where my numbers needed to be in a way I could understand it was great didn't leave the appointment confused

This is only my second visit with Dr. Yates, as my previous PCP has moved on to different endeavors. Considering that, I felt he was pretty up to date on my health issues and double checked everything to make sure he had a grasp of the current situation. I was very pleased with how the visit went.

Dr Yates and cardiologists cannot seem to find why my condition and abilities have not improved post triple bypass to conditions in the year or two before surgery. Same symptoms now as pre-surgery; breathlessness and increased pulse. Seems to me surgery should have improved my situation.
