I've seen Dr Starman twice. Once for Arthritis in my knees and once for a strained hamstring. On both visits, I felt like he did a thorough examination and provided me with excellent options and advice. I will be seeing him again next week for a shoulder problem.

I get the feeling he cares more about sports injuries and couldn't be bothered with someone with arthritis. Once he saw the x-ray was arthritis he just prescribed me some anti-inflammatory meds and some likely-not-necessary physical therapy and sent me packing. I tried to discuss what life style changes I could make to reduce inflammation as far as adding or subtracting foods from my diet but he didn't seem moved by the thought of a holistic or even dietary approach. He told me not to believe what I read about inflammatory/anti-inflammatory foods on the internet. I didn't get the chance to tell him my information was from the ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION website. He didn't even suggest I lose weight which I have since learned is the #1 thing a patient can do to relieve stress on the knee. Maybe the Aexcel star rating means it is in the best interest of the Insurance Company that you go there.
