Dr Haska saw my 4 year old for a regular cleaning and exam. She told me my daughter needed surgery under general anesthesia to put 8 crowns in place and they quoted me approx 12k in which almost all of it would be out of pocket. I had never heard of such extensive work for a child with good oral hygiene and my gut told me to seek another opinion. When I asked the office for a copy of the X-rays they sent blurry thumbnail sized images and told me they misquoted me for adult crowns and the new quote was approx 4K. I asked for a copy of the original quote which they told no was no longer in their system. When I finally had my daughter seen by a respected pediatric dentist in town, the new dentist told me she needed one small filling under nitrous oxide and it would be a quick in-office procedure that did not require novocaine. I sent the X-rays to several other dentists whom I personally know and they all agreed that they did not see a need for a single crown. Always trust your gut.
