Ms. Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Selzer-Lang, LMFT, M.A.

My partner and I worked with Liz for just over 2 months. Over that time we saw her regularly for couples therapy anywhere from 1-3x per week, both in person and over zoom. At first I thought her assertive and direct approach was refreshing. Some of what she said and did in our first few meetings seemed unconventional in comparison to my individual therapy and various couples therapists I've worked with over the last 6+ years, however I didn't think much of it. As our sessions progressed she became more and more confrontational. She would shout, speak condescendingly, reference other patients, frequently interrupt us when we were speaking, and went as far as to tell us she didn't need us as clients. In one Zoom session she muted us when we disagreed with her so that she could talk over us. This culminated in terminating the relationship with her. Despite never getting signed consent for a release of info she went on to contact my individual therapist about our time together.
