Mrs. Donna Marie Selner, LMHC

I have no idea how this woman got her license to practice therapy. She believes being abusive, addiction problems, child neglect, lack of empathy, and pathological lying are just “normal Joe things” and that it’s not a problem just a minor thing you can improve just like everyone else (her exact words). She also claims to do CBT but doesn’t, she instead shows her own unmanaged ADHD (admitted by her) and bounces all over the place about various topics, so quickly you cannot even finish answering a question or giving feedback or asking a question about the prior topic before she has completely switched topics. She does most of the talking, a lot about herself or just random irrelevant things. She also victim blames. She also gave unqualified advice about prescription antidepressants and anxiolytics, specifically to take a sedative and claiming it was “nothing more than a Benadryl and wouldn’t make anyone overly tired” when the drug in question is used as a surgical sedative, and is notorious for having long lasting (days) significant sedation effects, and telling the patient to just keep trying different antidepressants when multiple have been tried causing aggression (a sign of a mood disorder) when the patient doesn’t even have problems with depression, the problem is with rage and anger. She has (again unqualified) disagreed with multiple qualified professional’s opinions that a mood/personality disorder and ADHD are present. She rarely talks about subjects that the patient specifically went there to address because she’s too busy with tangents and hobby-level subject talks, and other topics that are not problematic or are irrelevant. It’s absolutely terrifying that this woman is a school counselor for Wayne central, and it’s very clear why they’ve had severe bullying problems in the past decade resulting in parents having to pull their kids from school. Their own school counselor is a bully to victims and is an enabler to bullies/abusers! Stay clear! And get your kid out of Wayne central for as long as she remains a counselor there!
