• January: I go to Dr. Park Whit for Pain in Leg. • He refers me to Mr. Gohil, A Pain Management Specialist. • I make an appointment and see him. • He refers me to get an X-Ray & an MRI. • He also prescribed me Tizandine, an Insomnia Medication, with no refills • He tells me that X-Ray is only for the Insurance company because they will not approve the MRI without an XRay first • I tell him that I will be going to Zwanger Pesiri in Brentwood • I make an appointment with Zwanger Pesiri in Brentwood • I go for the X-ray, but I cant get it because Mr. Gohil did not send the referral. • I get the Xray and make an appointment for the MRI • I go get the MRI and once again I cannot because Mr Gohil once again did not send my Referal • 2 missed apointments later, he finally send it in and I get the MRI • I see Mr. Gohil to get the results. He informs me that I have 3 vertabrea in the spin pinching the Nerves that go down my leg, commonly known as Sciatica. He tells me I need an Epidural and it must be approved by the Insurance company and that takes 4 to 6 weeks based on his experience with Insurance Company, Fidelis Care. • I call back later in the day to speak to Gohil about any Medication he recommends. I do not speak to him, but I do speak to a lady that says she is assistant. I ask herfor some Medication for this huge pain I have been enduring. She yells at me “We do not prescribe Narcotics here!” I did not ask for, nor do I want Narcotics. She says she will send a script for Gabbapenton and never sends it. • Now it is April and I call several times for an update about my Epidural. I eventually speak to a Man that claims to be Gohil’s assistant. He says he has no information and tell me “It takes a long time”. I ask him for a refill on the Tizandine and he says he sending over right away to my Pharmacy, Walmart in Islandia. It is never sent. • Early May, I call again for an update and get hung up on. • I call my Insurance company. They tell me my Epidural was approved on April 5th and the window to administer had passed. It was from April 10th to May 10th. They tell me that an extension needs to applied for. • I call up Sunset Medical and ask to speak to a Manager. I tell the story above and am told that I will be put on the schedule immediately. They give me an appointment for May 29th at 330pm • May 28th. I get a call for Gohill’s Scheduling assistant asking if I can change to 10am. I cannot, I have a Job that I need to be at. We figure out that I can come in at 2pm. I get transfered to another Assistant that asks me “which do I prefer? 2pm or 330pm?” I tell her that they called me, so “which one do YOU prefer”. The rude assistant is not listening and talks over me and repeats her question. Before I can answer again, Mr. Gohil himself interups and screams at me “ If you don’t like it, get another Doctor” and hangs up on me.
I have a rare type of Arthritis called Arthrogryposis multiplex congenital and he keeps going above and beyond to find ways to help me . As soon as he finds a solution he will call me to let me know.
Dr. Gohil was very thorough, compassionate, "present", open-minded & assertive (yet not aggressive) with my diagnosis and treatment plan. I went to him after my previous pain specialist was no longer in net-work. I have a laundry list of cervical issues. Herniations, Impingements, Pinched nerves, spinal stenosis. etc. I can't sleep because of burning, radiating. throbbing pain. I've been suffering for years with some on & off relief with previous epidurals, radiofrequency, cortisone injections. Trying to avoid surgery if I can. I had my consultation on 6/29/2022 & within a week the office obtained an authorization for an epidural a week later. This morning was the epidural. He was great. Also the female assistant (I didn't get her name), was positively the best! I'm keeping my fingers crossed & hoping for the best until it takes effect. If I can avoid narcotics, I prefer it but he also left the option as he said, he's not anti-opioids. Nowadays, you are literally vilified & criminalized if you need pain control. Pain & age do not discriminate.
