Mr. Deshawn Renarda Artis, LPC

Deshawn is a zen person. He's never stern or forceful, and he always has this very light touch sort of feeling, like he's listening, but he isn't making any judgments. It's the kind of attitude I'm very fond of. I like to reflect a lot on my own during sessions and bounce a lot of my own ideas off therapists, and Deshawn is eager to play the role of responsive and guiding listener. I'm an atheist, and religious ideas bother me. I need religious ideas to stay out of conversations in therapy. Secular is best, and Deshawn delivers. I think Deshawn is a Christian, but it isn't easy to tell. He's never explicit with his beliefs, just every once in a while he drops a sentence that gives me a hunch. If you're looking for laid-back secular therapy from a black man with teeth everyone wishes they had, Deshawn's your guy.
