Dr. Mai had his staff do an eye scan in the office and he gave me the results immediately. He wrote a follow-up on My Chart, so this is helpful. Dr. Mai Scheduled me for cataract surgery during the same visit and that surgery date is within a month. Dr. Mai is very efficient and so are his staff. They called me to set up pre-op appts on very short notice at Facey Valencia 1, and It is very hard to get regular appointments with doctors at Facey Valencia 1. I am impressed Dr. Mai's staff. They performed a miracle getting me a pre-op appt with Dr. Avelino within a week. I appreciate how Dr. Mai's staff and Dr. Avelino's staff worked together to make my pre-op appointment happen so quickly, and staff from both offices called to confirm the pre-op appointment. Great patient care, teamwork and customer service.

Dr Mai is a great Doctor in my opinion. My first cataract surgery was two years ago, cause for much anxiety for me, however, the procedure went very well, and not uncomfortable at all. Dr Mai's professionalism, personal concern, and caring helps tremendously. The second cataract surgery was a bit more uncomfortable, but overall painless. What struck me as I lay there before the actual surgery, was his rapport and friendliness with the rest of the staff in the room, seems to me he helps to create a team and a good work environment

I saw Dr Mai as a follow-up to a retina surgery that I had in February. In March I had a follow-up with my retina surgeon who said I now have a cataract forming in the eye and she said I should follow up with Dr Mai. I was able to get an appointment with Dr Mai quickly and he already had the information from my eye surgeon and my records. He was well prepared and confirmed that cataract surgery is recommended and added me to the list for surgery/insurance approval. I am very happy with the care from Dr Mai and his staff.

Dr. Mai is excellent. Very attentive to my concerns. He spent time in the office to explain how I would have my surgery and how my recovering would be. He spent time as well on day of my surgery to review all the details as well. Saw me 1 day after surgery, again 1 week after to remove sutures, and I will be seeing him again in a month. Went above and beyond for me, as I am sure he does with other patients. He is great!! Would recommend him to everyone!

I had an eye infection that I felt needed to be seen right away. This was a wonderful experience where the receptionist fit me in to be seen the day I called and even though I was told I might have to wait when I arrived I was put in a room within 5 minutes of arrival and seen within 10 minutes after that. This is the best service I have gotten with a specialty at Facey.

Dr Derek Mai is a Doctor's Doctor. Great at what he does, very clear thinking and pro-active. He accommodated me in a short period when I had a stye and granuloma he had to explore and get out. Numbing worked great and everything quickly resolved. Thankful for his help and the help of his wonderful Medical Assistant, she was very courteous and welcoming. A+ Team

Dr. Mai has been a dream sent doctor. I am following up on my glaucoma surgery & he always is a pleasure to discuss anything with him. Answers all my questions, & I always have my daughter go in with me to see my doctors& he will also answer any of her questions. Dr. Mai is such a sweet a calming person it is always a pleasure to see him

I'd like to say that from the point of entering the eye facility, the receptionist are friendly and professional, the assistant and the eye doctor are very friendly and caring. The facility is always clean. I've already convinced a family member to change to Facey, being it was open enrollment. I'm sure he'll be pleased .

The young lady who did my intake was amazing. She was thorough and the quickest I've ever had. She knew exactly what to do as if she's been in the field for many years. Greatly appreciated. The doctor was great as well. He explained everything and got additional questions answered.
