After a couple months of inconsistent appearances for family counseling, this provider did not use appropriate treatment for situation and instead of helping my teen, she made the lies and tantrums worst.  Child did not behave as violent or rude when Debra was not around, but during family session child played off of Debra’s ignorance of case details and Debra began to place blame on parent for child’s behavior when parent confronted Debra about her inconsistency during therapy. Sets rules, then does now enforce them with problematic children causing continues boundaries issues,  forces parent to sit through verbal attacks and being hit with thrown items from child. does not think family session should include the families feelings…only the child’s. Literally saying infront if out of control child that the parents feeling do not matter, when family counceling is about the family, not one individual. Debra did not complete the hourly individual and family sessions every week, because she claimed it was too much back to back. If that was an issue, then she should have set them on different dates or not taken a case she did not have adequate time for. She left  child unsupervised in a hallway while having episode and totally left property without returning. The unethical abandonment of her client during a session is being reported and charges for unlawful detainment for not allowing parent to leave after being verbally attacked and multiple times items thrown at them. Avoid this lazy, incompetent, and unethical therapist. If you are using her due to department of family and children, know you have rights to request another provider who is not so inconsistent and bad at family sessions.
