I initially really liked Dr. McDonald but that changed after I got a call saying that I had an abnormal pap result. I've never had an abnormal result in my life so I was concerned. Immediately I was told that I needed to have a uterine biopsy. I questioned whether that invasive procedure was absolutely necessary and was told by the staff YES. When I went in for the procedure, I became more concerned when I heard the front desk staff schedule that same procedure at least 4 times in the 15 mins I was in the lobby. Upon entering the room, I spoke to a nurse and explained my concerns and asked if I should get a 2nd pap instead just to confirm if the biopsy was necessary and she agreed that I probably should and I should discuss with the doctor. I talked to Dr. McDonald about my concerns and she said told me that it was possible that she had gone up to high during my exam and accidentally grabbed endometrial tissue which is what showed up on the lab glass. With that...again I requested a 2nd pap exam instead of a biopsy but Dr. McDonald insisted that I move forward with the biopsy to rule out cancer. I trusted her and proceeded to go through the most painful procedure I think I've ever experienced. I was shaking uncontrollably and even sobbing out loud. Needless to say, that my results came back absolutely normal. I have not returned to Dr. McDonald or any doctor for that matter...completely traumatized and untrusting of the well woman's experience thanks to Dr. McDonald.
