This doctor signed off on my medical records even though I’m not totally sure that I spoke to her based on the time stamps of my medical records and my memory of my visit to the emergency room. I went in for a rape kit and was assured I would not be charged because it was a rape kit. The hospital took care of my bills and sent me no notice of them as per protocol but this doctor sent me a bill of $500+ for an evaluation she did not give and I did not receive that night. I am left at a dead end whenever I try to contact her and cannot seem to reach her at all. There are no notes on an evaluation in my medical records other than my triage notes which are protocol to receive care in the ER. Based on records and memory I can say honestly that I never received the evaluation she is billing me for and now my bill is being sent to collections even though I was not supposed to be billed at all since it is a federal crime to bill victims for rape kits.
