Very rushed appointment. He did not listen well at all, which caused him to spend most of the appointment time promoting a medication that was irrelevant to my situation. When the scheduled ending was approaching, he was clearly irritated that I had a 2nd issue to briefly discuss. 
My primary complaint is that he gave very bad advice about a couple of medications that he didn't actually know. Side effects from my Venlafaxine RX had grown over time to an unacceptable, but not necessarily dangerous, level. He told me to quit it cold turkey and prescribed a "replacement" medication that he claimed would block the withdrawal symptoms Venlafaxine is infamous for. I believed him over what I had read about tapering off, since you're supposed to be able to trust a medical professional over what you read online. The new medication did not at all alleviate the withdrawal effects, which I found out later is because it works in a different way than Ven. and on different neurotransmitters. I lost several days of work when I could least afford it, since I could not drive or even move my eyes without getting 'brain jolts.' I ended up going to UrgentCare, where the actual MD was shocked that Willems had told me to quit cold turkey. She had experience managing Ven. RXs at her main practice, and said it typically takes a month or more to taper off of Ven., and some patients never can.
