My mother (83) moved in with me from out of state. I was able to book an initial appointment for a new patient consultation within a couple of months of her moving in. I found Dr. Arumala pleasant, thorough and attentive to my mom's issues. At 83, Dr. Arumala was able to make suggestions for treatment on issues that my mom just thought she had to suffer with. I am so satisfied with her and her office support that I am now her patient as well.
I was extremely dissatisfied with the care I received here. Dr. Arumala is rude and dismissive, and ignores the concerns of her patients. I found her care lacking and bordering incompetent. Despite having access to my charts and medical history, she prescribed medications to me that were in conflict with my history and medications I was already taking. I raised concerns about my ongoing panic disorder, and she refused to refill my medication, and dispassionately told me to "go to a doctor" if I had a panic attack. She also proceeded to tell me that I "don't look like someone who has anxiety" despite having seen me all of 2 times and having access to my medical history which noted an ongoing history of anxiety and panic attacks spanning several years. She repeatedly interrupted me and spoke over me, rather than listening to my concerns and working towards solutions. I would strongly suggest not going to Dr. Arumala if you want competent, compassionate care.
