Dr. Christina R. Schmeler, DDS

She'd been my dentist for many years until she did this - she sent me to a specialist to have a root canal in an abutment tooth (I have a dental bridge); I had the root canal then the specialist told me I should have had the bridge removed because the seal was broken and that's how the decay got there. Dr. Schmeler never recommended that I get the bridge removed. I made an appointment with her to get the bridge removed only for her to tell me they didn't allow enough time for the procedure, that it would take hours and besides - she had to find out how much Aetna would pay. Then she told me I also had to have the 2nd abutment tooth extracted! She said the specialist recommended that I have that tooth pulled. I called the specialist, the specialist told me he never said that. So I asked Dr. Schmeler for copies of my x-rays - 3 times I called the office for them and 3 times I was told they were mailed. I never got them. I asked for them to be faxed - I got all blank pages. So I switched dentists, because now I don't trust her. I had to pay for another set of x-rays with the new dentist.  The root canal was never even needed, I had to get the bridge removed and a new one on the way. That's what should have been done in the first place, then the abutment tooth could have just been filled. By the way, the 2nd abutment tooth did not need pulled, I don't know what that was about. And Aetna approves this dentist! Do not use this dentist.
