The doctor that I have went to for more than 20 years, closed his practice and my records ended up with Dr Cole. In January of 2019, I needed a refill on my current prescriptions. I called and was refused a refill until Dr Cole could see me. The appointment was set for 2 weeks later. I had informed them that I would be out of medications and without any for a week by the time my appointment would take place. They still would not refill my scripts. The day the appointment was to take place, they called and cancelled saying the Dr would not be in that day. I reminded them I was out of meds! The said they would see me the following week. He seemed nice and attentive at that first appointment. The staff was not friendly or professional. When the bill came, I was extremely surprised to see the amount I was charged for "a first" appointment. Remember, I was only there for refills and not sick. Nothing was done at this appointment. We talked for about 10 minutes. $183 was the bill! My insurance suggested rate was accepted by Northwestern Physicians taking it down to $94.53. Still a lot more that I had anticipated!!!! I was told to come back in May for a re-check (re-check for what??? ) That was when my pills needed another refill, so that appointment, that we again did nothing at, cost me out of pocket $63 down from $150 that was the original charge before insurance suggested rate. For a REFILL! Since then, each time i needed a refill and called for it, the pharmacy or myself had to call numerous times to get that done. I would end up completely out of meds for a week or more. (by the way, the medication is for my thyroid! nothing that could or would be abused!) I am looking for a new doctor.

I changed doctors in June 2018 to Dr. Cole. My initial impression was good, he was patient and seemed to be a good listener. Since then my experience has been a nightmare. His assistant blatantly lied on several occasions regarding the status of referrals for testing and required life saving medical devices. I was in need of a CPAP device and ended up going to a pulmonary care specialist. Since June 2018 I have had 5 appointments; 1 had to be rescheduled and 1 I was seen by another physician as Dr. Cole called off (after the time of my scheduled appointment). I am now being referred for some gastrointestinal testing and am being told that I must see a specialist before the testing can even be processed. Overall I am finding this doctor and his staff to lack competence and am disappointed in the level of care I am receiving. If you have any health issues I would avoid this practice.
