A pediatric doctor should have bedside manner that is better than the norm, not worse. Do not think you can go out of town for Thanksgiving if Dr. Wallace is your child's doctor. He told me he can't treat a patient that is across the country. Apparently, his ability to be a doctor stops at the Georgia state line. At our last visit he accused me of playing Dr. Mom, but when I said something later, he stated he never has used that phrase. Being called a liar doesn’t sit well. Honestly, I don’t even know if he knew who my child was because when I recalled instructions he gave, he seemed confused. If you fit in his little box, he may be the doctor for your child, but my family does not. It is sad that he never asked about anything else happening in my child's life that could be attributed to his problem. He is a model of bad bedside manner. Understanding goes a long way, as does calling the child by their given name.
