Carolina recommended that I take my newborn to a chiropractor and a dentist. I talked to my predication and another lactation consultant and they said my baby is fine (does not have tongue and lip tie) and does not need to see a chiropractor or dentist. Her electronic documentation system did not work when I was there in November 2017. I had to fill out and upload several forms (some twice because they did not upload correctly) but when I arrived for my appointment the forms were not online and I had to fill them out again. The system sent me a bill on December 18th and it was due on December 18th. I got a big red overdue notice on December 22nd (less than a week later). I have edited my original review to 1 star because of this unprofessional email she sent me after my original review. Here is the email. "Hi Amanda, I provided the best care of my knowledge. I'm not perfect since I'm not God. It doesn't mean that ungrateful mothers should go around defaming other people because they are not happy with themselves and their life. I wonder if was you on the other side of the coin how would you feel? Do you it has a human being here? I hope your breastfeeding is going well. Sincerely, Carolina" I personally would not recommend her. However, everyone is different and she may work for you.
Our baby had problem with breastfeeding after discharged from hospital. Dr. Carolina is the first lactation consultant we went to. Dr. Carolina did an evaluation and told us our baby had tong tie problem. We should see a dentist and get surgery for him. We were so scared by the news. We were already having problem feeding our baby. On top of that we can not imagine how he will react if we have to do a surgery to his tong. I don't think he will or can eat for a whole week. My wife started to call all lactation consultants in the area who are in our insurance network. My wife went to HGHS support group and asked all the lactation consultants coming to the group. She also made appointment seeing another 3 consultants in 2 weeks. And we went to see 3 pediatrician doctors in my baby's clinic. Fortunately they all told us our baby's tong is find. There is no need for the surgery. It was such a big relief for us. As new parents nothing is more horrify than hearing your baby is not health and needs surgery. After 2 months our baby is happy breastfeeding now. He figured out everything by himself. We are so proud of him.
She was very competent and patient with me and my son, accompanying us from birth. In my postpartum period delicate but decisive period for the healthy growth of my son. For more than thirty days my son had difficulties in making the right handle on my breast because he was born with a tongue tied, which Carolina had already diagnosed on the first day of life. I put off surgery for thirty-one days trying to get my son to take the correct handle. It was a difficult period for me due to fatigue after childbirth and adaptation after his birth, but thanks to Carolina's experience and patience I did not give up and I was able to breastfeed my child even without him being able to make the correct handle, we used finger feeding with my own milk and exercise so he relearned to suckle it. The surgery was really necessary, and after a minor painless surgery to loosen his tongue, he already left the dentist suckling in the chest. I am proud to say that my son is breastfeeding to this day and that our connection only increases, besides having only a mild cold at seven months. She also advised me to look for an osteopath, which was fundamental for the opening of my baby's anterior fontanelle without the need for surgical intervention and rearrangement of the bones of his skull that were very overlapping in a condition known as scaphocephalus which was diagnosed by Carolina and proven by doctors with x-ray examinations, which caused pressure in his brain and led to various discomforts such as reflux disease, irritation and weight loss due to exaggerated reflux. Because of Carolina's advice, the professionals who assisted us, and our perseverance, my son today is above average, with a beautiful head and perfect health.
