My experience with this therapist was incredibly disappointing. Throughout our sessions, he repeatedly asked the same questions without providing any guidance or direction. After just the second session, I was shocked and deeply hurt when he insulted my wife, describing her as manipulative, and proceeded to attack my own insecurities. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply distressing. In my opinion, this therapist should not be practicing at all. His actions were not only unhelpful but also quite harmful. I would strongly advise anyone seeking therapy to consider other options and avoid working with him. His approach was, in my view, not only unproductive but also dangerous.
Confusing billing practices (some visits were charged a mysterious "processing fee" and others were not), and when questioned could not or would not provide a clear answer. The way Ben practices therapy is much the same - no answers to direct questions, no concrete skills or techniques to take away, and he cannot or will not explain his methodology/techniques any further than "gestalt" or "crucible method". He also offered unsolicited advice after the therapeutic relationship had ended, which was frankly inappropriate. Also not LGBTQI+ friendly/inclusive despite advertising himself as such. I guess if you're in a "het-passing" relationship your sexuality and identity does not matter. In multiple months of sessions, sexuality, sex, nor any other sort of intimacy issue was addressed despite this being advertised as this providers main focus and indicated on intake as a main issue. Read self-help books by the Gottmans for more actual, concrete help and save yourself some money.
