I reached out to Dr. Phillips to schedule an appointment, indicating that my husband was dying and I needed someone that could help me process it. She suggested that she could only do a phone call/video due to the pandemic. I clearly indicated that I wanted a video rather than an impersonal phone conversation. I had spent a year and a half alone in the house while my husband declined and I needed some human contact. She agreed to look into it and to send me a link prior to our appointment. The afternoon before the appointment I texted her again, indicating that I had not yet received the video link. She said that she was just going to do a phone call. I indicated my dismay because I had so clearly delineated my situation. She called and said that "I deserved to have someone that was willing to meet with me via video/in person." I agreed. I got the sense that her needs, which clearly excluded using any kind of technology, were her main focus and not the needs of the client.
