Ms. Ashley N. Murray, DPT

Ashley Murray has damaged me for life. She is an incredibly inexperienced PT. She has little to no knowledge about the pelvic floor and is totally disconnected from her patients. It’s shocking that she’s allowed to see patients with specialized conditions when she has no qualifications or training to do so. I can’t speak directly to her knowledge as a PT for other conditions but in terms of pelvic floor she absolutely should NOT be allowed to practice! I saw her for 5 months. During that time she had me come in once a month, which is not enough time to gauge progress. She did not keep track of all my symptoms (or even ask!) and what was helping or making things worse. She never told me what to avoid. She didn’t set small goals, she just had one large goal for PT which was “calm down my nervous system”. This goal isn’t something you couldn’t possibly achieve in PT to begin with. I told her I was tapering Valium and this is why my nervous system was such a wreck but she never took that into account or even understood the correlation. When I would tell her symptoms she never had an answer. She didn’t understand what was going on with me on a fundamental level nor did she try to understand! At one of our last sessions I’d just been diagnosed with chronic gastritis. I was very upset and vulnerable. Id just expressed to her that my bladder symptoms were getting worse and I felt like we needed to find ways to improve our sessions. She completely disregarded that info and had me do exercises that are specifically advised against for hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction. She attacked my illness and made me 50x worse. Due to the gastritis and the strong link between the gut and bladder, she should’ve been being EXTRA careful with me! The exercises undid ALL the progress I had made and STRAINED my pelvic floor. I have a partial tear in my pelvic floor too! I developed interstitial cystitis because of this along with a myriad of other worsening and extremely painful symptoms that I had never experienced before! 2 months later I still have them and some of these symptoms are CHRONIC! After this happened she consistently lied to me about the severity of what was going on with me, which made me feel crazy! It wasn’t until I saw a new PT who was an actual pelvic floor specialist, that I learned exactly how much Ashley harmed me. Whatever you do, do not see Ashley Murray for pelvic floor therapy! Go see an actual pelvic floor specialist!!
