Referred here by PCP for evaluation of jaw infection after tooth extraction. Dr Kolokythas said in her "opinion" there was no infection, that I was just healing slowly because I was "older" (I was 41 at the time). Refused to order any imaging and discharged me. Biopsy and MRI 2 weeks later with more experienced providers showed chronic bone infection. She and all the staff I encountered in Rochester were rude, arrogant and wrong in their assessment and diagnosis. Her resident wrote almost nothing about my case in his notes, but devoted multiple lines to how he felt mistreated by my mother, who is an NP, trying to point out the visible and palpable swelling under my jaw, which he kept saying he couldn't see. Subsequently, she also misdiagnosed a friend with recurrence of mouth cancer, which he didn't have. Stay away unless you want to be diagnosed with a problem when you don't have one and not diagnosed when you do. It should be an embarrassment to the whole school and hospital that she's running the oral department and setting such a poor example for the generations of students to come.
