She was 20-25 minutes late to see me (this is after the medical assistant had already taken my vitals and told me to undress and lay on the table and that the midwife would be in to see me shortly). When she greeted me she asked me what I was expecting to get out of this appointment which I thought was an odd question to ask. I said just to check on my stitches and the status of my vag. She stared at me blankly and said, "what?" I didn't know how to answer to begin with because none of my past appointments with other CNMs or doctors have had such an awkward and unusual line of questioning. She took my loss of words to be anger and annoyance with her and kept asking me if I was mad at her or annoyed and if she did something wrong. She was dancing around what she assumed was me being mad at her and asked in a number of ways if it was okay to check my stitches and seemed scared to check me/do her job. It was unprofessional, presumptuous, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and attacked. Angie asked me if I would like to sit up (I was laying on the table) and I said no because it was not comfortable to sit up (postnatal reasons). She kept asking me what was wrong and seemed overly sensitive/cautious when she need not be. After I saw that she wouldn't let it go, I told her that I was waiting on the table half undressed for at least 20 minutes. She admitted that she was running behind. She did not apologize or take responsibility for it but simply said that I should not have been told to undress and lay on the table and was sorry THAT that was communicated to me. I told her that it was a miscommunication and that I wasn't at all mad or annoyed and had to tell her to please just check my stitches and that I just wanted to be seen so I could get home. It didn't need to be analyzed at such great lengths. After she examined me she asked again if I wanted to sit up/said I could sit up now (I was talking to her while still laying down) and I said no I'll just lay down and she responded with, "oh so now you WANNA lay down now? Ok". This whole appointment was the worst medical appointment I have ever had in my entire life, she does not know how to talk to patients, and also told me to make an appointment with the people that I normally see (after asking who my usual provider is). Note, the appointment was made for me after I gave birth and I did not specifically request her for my follow up appointment. I had the same experience as the other review where she left the appointment suddenly and I said thank you as she was walking out and she didn't respond. Side note she goes by Angie.
Extremely cold and unattached/emotionless. First time meeting her and she walked out the room the appointment without giving any next steps or what to expect. Didn’t even say goodbye when she wakes out the room. She was rushing the appointment. Very disappointed that this was my first experience at Sutter.
